What’s a zine?
A zine is a small, independent form of publication created by one or more authors. The word ‘zine’ comes from a short form of the word ‘magazine’ and that’s how it’s pronounced: ‘zeen’, like the end of the word ‘magazine’.
There are no set-in-stone rules for making zines. They can be about anything the author wants! They also come in a variety of different sizes and formats.
About my zines
I made a few zines so far and chose one format: A one page zine. It’s a little zine (A7, not much bigger than a playing card) made out of one sheet of cheap printer paper. You can download some of my zines as PDF and print them at home.
All you need to make a little book-like thingy out of it is a pair of scissors. If you don’t know how to fold a one page zine, you can find a tutorial here. If you prefer a short video over a written tutorial, check out this video.
